Najib Babul, PharmD, MBA
Dr. Najib Babul is President & Chief Scientific Officer of Quadra Therapeutics. He has designed and overseen the development of numerous new and repurposed drugs using the 505(b)(1) and 505(b)(2) regulatory pathways over the past two decades. Dr. Babul’s expertise in drug development is reflected in invitations to serve as a consultant or a member of scientific advisory boards for more than two dozen pharma companies and in more than 170 manuscripts and abstracts in leading journals, including Neurology, Lancet, JAMA, Clinical Oncology, Cancer, Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, Pain, Journal of Palliative Care, Journal of Clinical Rheumatology, Anesthesiology, Anesthesia & Analgesia, Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics and the European Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

He was previously VP of Clinical Development at Cadence Pharmaceuticals (now a part of Mallinckrodt); Chief Scientific Officer at TheraQuest Biosciences; VP of Global Clinical Drug Development & Therapeutic Leader, Analgesia & Rheumatology at SCIREX, a CRO (now Premier Research); and Director, Clinical Research at Purdue Pharma.

Dr. Babul has the opportunity to work extensively with FDA’s Division of Anesthesia, Analgesia, and Addiction Products (DAAAP, and its two divisions) over the past two decades. He has been an invited speaker at the FDA, have spoken at multiple FDA Analgesic Advisory Committee meetings, and at FDA-NIH meeting son analgesic guidelines. He has also served as Chair of the American Pain Society’s Shared Interest Group (SIG) on Clinical Trials, Associate Professor of Medicine (Adjunct) at the Temple University School of Medicine and an Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Opioid Management and the Journal of Pain & Palliative Care Pharmacotherapy.

Dr. Babul is an inventor on multiple patents and patent applications. He received his B. Pharm. from the University of British Columbia, PharmD from the State University of New York, Buffalo and MBA from the California Institute of Advanced Management.
